I am excited to host our 2nd annual fundraiser with the Seattle Spoon Club, Community Spoons: Hand Carving for Hope benefiting the Ballard Food Bank! This year, we are adding a raffle for some beautiful handmade wood items. The kickoff event is Saturday, August 8 during the Ballard Art Walk but you are welcome to visit and participate during our normal business hours through Sunday, August 30.

YOU can support BFB in three ways while at Niche: 1) buy a hand carved wooden spoon or hand turned bowl - 65% of the purchase price will be donated; 2) give money directly to BFB through our donation page ** 3) donate shelf-stable foods and goods (most needed items listed here).

Members of the Seattle Spoon Club have hand carved each spoon. The wood used is sourced from hardwood trees that have come down in a storm or needed to be trimmed or removed for safety reasons. When lovingly cared for, these sustainable utensils will last for years.

** For every $20 donated while at Niche or through our Community Spoons donation page, you are entered into the raffle! Prizes are 1) a stunning large madrone salad bowl by Terry Miller, valued at $450; 2) a hand carved pair of two applewood spoons (salad set), valued at $150; 3) a $200 gift card to Niche to spend on whatever you wish from the gallery! Stop by Niche to choose which items your tickets will count towards.
