Artist Reception for Ceramicist Pearl McCrea

Our month of featuring the work of ceramic artist Pearl McCrea is drawing to a close. Please join us at Niche on April 4, 3-5pm, to meet Pearl and celebrate her successful first show! For her final weekend, she will have some new sgraffito platters available as well as her block printed towels and bags.

Pearl is a Seattle based ceramic artist inspired by her upbringing on the Olympic Peninsula. Growing up beachcombing along the Pacific Northwest coastline, she developed a deep love for kelp strewn shores, barnacle covered rocks, and the quiet treasures found in the tide.

She creates functional ceramic serving ware, primarily hand carved platters featuring coastal motifs. This carving-based approach has naturally expanded into linocut printmaking, where she translates her coastal motifs into bold, graphic impressions on canvas and cotton.

Pearl’s work transforms everyday objects into functional artwork. Each platter is designed to be lived with, holding food, gathering people, and carrying a quiet reminder of sun-warmed skin, salt air, and the treasures waiting along the shore.

Come meet Pearl, enjoy some light snacks, sweets and beverages, and take home a little piece of the PNW!
